The sustainable development of Wan Chai must balance environmental, social and economic concerns. It should embrace the co-existence of the new and the old, so that during the inevitable process of development, layouts and unique characteristics of streets and historical structures can be retained, community network can be preserved and strengthened, inclusive and diversified characters of the community can be further enhanced in order to move towards a healthy community.
灣仔的市區更新必須貫徹以人為本、尊重居民的選擇權，繼續發揚居民過去數年的積極參與精神，延續由下而上的公民參與，共同制訂政策。讓灣仔可持續發展，必須平衡環境、社會和經濟的考慮。讓新舊並存，使灣仔在發展巨輪下，仍能保留街道的布局、風貌和歷史建築，讓社區網絡得以保存和鞏固，繼續發揮包容及多元的特色，朝向健康社區的發展。
